The Goroka Festival is held in the second week of September each year in conjunction with the country’s independence celebrations. Participants from the highlands region and the coastal region come together in Goroka, the provincial capital town of Eastern Highlands Province, and display their respective cultures and traditions in the form of traditional cultural performance (dance or sing-sing).
During the festival, there are also displays of agricultural products at the festival venue.

Itinerary
Transfer to Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby for your domestic flight to Mount Hagen.
Upon arrival at Mt Hagen Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Accommodation:

After breakfast, travel by bus along the Highlands Highway to Goroka.
En route, pass through the provincial capital town of Kundiawa. Stop at Migende Village to witness the Chimbu Waterfall Spirits performance.
Continue to Kundiawa town for lunch before proceeding to Goroka. A further stop will be made at Asaro Village to experience the famous Asaro Mudmen ritual dance in their natural environment.
